Jaguar XE InControl Touch Pro — Freezing, Rebooting & Display Faults

Overview
The InControl Touch Pro infotainment system in the Jaguar XE is capable but has a number of well-documented software faults — particularly on earlier software versions. System freezes, unexpected reboots, failed Apple CarPlay or Android Auto connections, and touch screen unresponsiveness are all common complaints that can often be resolved through software updates.
Symptoms

- ▶System spontaneously rebooting — sometimes repeatedly
- ▶CarPlay or Android Auto failing to connect or dropping the connection
- ▶Navigation system unavailable or showing incorrect maps
- ▶Bluetooth pairing failing or dropping
- ▶Black screen on start-up — system not loading correctly
What Causes It?
- ✕Outdated InControl software — JLR has released multiple updates addressing known bugs
- ✕eMMC storage corruption — a hardware fault that requires module replacement
- ✕Software conflicts from aftermarket accessories using the OBD port
- ✕USB port failure preventing correct device communication
The Solution
JLRMAN diagnoses InControl faults using SDD to check software version and apply any outstanding JLR software updates. Many InControl issues are resolved by an over-the-air update or a SOTA (Software Over The Air) update applied via SDD. Where the eMMC storage chip has failed, the infotainment module requires replacement and reprogramming. We advise clearly on what's covered and what to expect.
